6-Day forecast for the Philadelphia metro region

Today

Mainly cloudy, even milder than yesterday, cannot rule out a few afternoon showers, highs in the mid 60’s

Tonight

Mainly cloudy, mild, chance for a shower, lows near 50 degrees

Saturday

Mainly cloudy skies, but there can be an interval or two of sunshine, breezy, quite warm, lower 70’s for afternoon highs

Saturday Night

Mainly cloudy, mild, good chance of showers late, near 50 degrees for overnight lows

Sunday

Mainly cloudy, breezy, a few showers are likely in the morning and mid-day hours, mild to start the day with highs in the mid 50’s, but temperatures should drop during the afternoon

Monday

Mainly sunny, brisk, cold, mid-to-upper 40's

Tuesday

Increasing clouds, chilly, chance for rain at night with an outside chance for some snow to mix in across higher elevation locations to the north and west, highs near 50 degrees

Wednesday

Mainly cloudy, breezy, still on the chilly side, chance of rain early in the day, lower 50’s

Discussion

The warm up that began yesterday will intensify today and highs should exceed the 70 degree mark on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, the warm up comes to a grinding halt on Sunday as a strong cold front slides through the Mid-Atlantic region with some shower activity and a much colder air mass will become quite noticeable by Sunday night along with a stiffening north-to-northwest wind. Colder-than-normal conditions will persist through mid-week in the DC-to-Philly-to-NYC corridor resulting in a chilly start to the month of April and we’ll have to watch a coastal storm which could impact the region in the Tuesday night/Wednesday morning time frame.
