Discussion
The new week will start off with high pressure in control, but it will have a short-term benefit as an overall active weather pattern will bring us multiple shots at showers and thunderstorms this week. A frontal system will meander around the Mid-Atlantic region for much of the week and bring us some very warm weather and also occasional showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures for Tuesday and Thursday should be the mid 80's with upper 70's likely on Wednesday as our low-level winds turn easterly for a short time. A cold front may arrive at the end of the week and this could end the unsettled spell of weather for at least part of the upcoming weekend.
