Discussion

A cold frontal system will approach the region today and it’ll turn windy and warmer ahead of it with temperatures jumping well into the 70’s this afternoon and there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. High pressure will try to provide a decent start to the weekend, but a soaking rain event is likely from late Saturday into Monday. The rain during this extended event may come in two waves with the heaviest likely from Saturday night into Sunday morning and then Sunday night into Monday. It will be quite cool during this event as well with temperatures likely doing no better than the low-to-mid 60's for highs on Sunday and Monday.
