Discussion

A back door cool front has passed through the region once again and today will turn out cooler than yesterday with some light rain or drizzle this morning and an afternoon shower or thunderstorm is possible. Showers and thunderstorms are possible again tonight as a cold front arrives in the region and this front will then stall in the Mid-Atlantic this weekend. Low pressure will pull out of the Tennessee Valley on Saturday and ride along the stalled out boundary zone and right towards the Mid-Atlantic region. As a result, more rain is likely here from late tomorrow into Sunday afternoon and some of it can be heavy at times; especially, in the overnight hours. Nicer weather will return early next week as high pressure follows the departing weekend low pressure system.
