Discussion
A pleasantly cool air mass greets the new work week in the Mid-Atlantic region and today will be a quiet day compared to the active weather of the past several days. High pressure builds into the region from the Upper Midwest and it’ll remain comfortable through tomorrow with a cool breeze developing today and sunshine on both days. The second half of the week promises to be warmer and more humid with the threat of showers and thunderstorms making a return. Meanwhile, the 2019 Atlantic Basin tropical season “officially” began on Saturday, June 1st and there is a disturbance in the southwest Gulf of Mexico that has a chance of strengthening into a named storm in coming days as it moves northward along Mexico’s west coast and then near or along the east coast of Texas.
