Discussion
There can be additional showers and thunderstorms today associated with entrenched tropical moisture and once this large moisture field pushes away later today, an atmospheric blow torch will set up for the Mid-Atlantic region. Temperatures will be somewhat reduced today due to extensive cloud cover, but will soar tomorrow and it’ll stay excessively hot and humid this weekend with a run to 100 degrees possible each day during this stretch; especially, on Saturday. There can be scattered showers and storms again later Sunday with a weak frontal system and then more showers and storms are likely later Monday as a stronger front arrives. That stronger front will usher in cooler air by next Tuesday when highs are likely to be confined to the 80’s and the remainder of July is looking anywhere from normal to slightly below normal in terms of temperatures.
