Discussion
A true summer heat wave will take place over the next three days from the Midwest to the east coast, but significant relief is on the way for next week. Temperatures will soar through the 90's today, tomorrow and Sunday in the DC metro region and can reach the 100 degree mark for highs on any of these three days. The end of the 3-day heat wave may come with some strong-to-severe thunderstorm activity on Sunday night and/or Monday. By next Tuesday, temperatures will be below-normal and the overall temperature pattern looks pretty favorable going into early August with additional comfortable air masses on the way for the central and eastern US.
