Discussion
A true summer heat wave will take place over the next three days from the Midwest to the east coast, but significant relief is on the way for next week. The atmospheric blow torch will cause temperatures to soar well up into the 90’s today and then make a run at 100 degrees on Saturday afternoon. Philly Airport hasn't reached the 100 degree mark in 7 years. The end of the 3-day heat wave may come with some strong-to-severe thunderstorm activity on Sunday night and/or Monday. By next Tuesday, temperatures will be below-normal and the overall temperature pattern looks pretty favorable going into at least early August with additional comfortable air masses on the way for the central and eastern US.
