Discussion

The tropics are showing some signs of life as the month of August closes in with a couple of waves to monitor in the eastern Atlantic. The dry air mass that has encompassed the tropical Atlantic in recent days has retreated to the north in recent days and a very moist plume of air now extends from the west coast of Africa to the Gulf of Mexico. As a result, more favorable conditions are setting up potentially leading to tropical activity in the Atlantic Basin…stay tuned.
