Discussion

A cool front will inch across the area later today and tonight and it will become the focus region for slow-moving showers and thunderstorms in the Mid-Atlantic region. Any storm that forms later today can become strong-to-severe with the potential of heavy downpours and damaging wind gusts. The front will stall out just south of here on Thursday and its proximity will keep us unsettled later this week and during the weekend. Temperatures will not be as warm today as they were during the past couple of days and highs will likely hold in the 80’s right through the upcoming weekend. Elsewhere, the eastern Atlantic is looking quite active and we may have a tropical storm to monitor in the western Atlantic around this time next week.
