Discussion
Weak high pressure to our north will be in control of the weather today and then a couple of fronts will head our way over the next few days. Humidity will rise on Tuesday ahead of the initial frontal system and then a stronger front approaches the area late Wednesday. As a result, the chance for showers and storms will be small tonight, increase on Tuesday afternoon/evening, and then likely reach a peak late Wednesday when there will be a threat for strong thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. Looking ahead, there is a pretty good chance for a nice refreshing air mass to arrive in the Mid-Atlantic region for the upcoming weekend anchored by high pressure to our north and west.
