Discussion

High pressure will push off to the north and east today and a cold front will approach the area from the northwest. This front will generate occasional showers in the Mid-Atlantic from this afternoon into the evening, but it doesn’t look like a significant precipitation event. High pressure builds in behind the front on Wednesday and it’ll turn slightly colder and then we’ll turn even colder on Thursday and Friday with highs confined to the middle 30’s on both days. There will be a lot of moisture to watch later this week across the Southeast US, but for now, it looks like it’ll stay to our southeast potentially causing some accumulating snow in the Carolinas and southeastern Virginia.
