Discussion
A cold frontal system has passed through the region and it’ll be colder today compared to the mild conditions of yesterday and then it’ll turn even colder for Thursday and Friday. High pressure that anchors the cold air mass will expand into this region from the central Plains and highs on both Thursday and Friday will be confined to the middle 30’s. Meanwhile, a large area of moisture will break away from the southern states and head northeastward to the southern Mid-Atlantic on Thursday. The result may be a significant snow event from southern Virginia to upstate South Carolina, but as has been the case all winter, snow of any consequence is not looking likely in the DC-to-Philly-to-NYC corridor.
