Discussion
Enhanced moisture from the southeastern states is pushing into the area today and this tropical air mass will raise the chances for light rain or drizzle today and tonight and then showers and thunderstorms on Friday. Some of the storms late tomorrow and tomorrow evening can be on the strong-to-severe side. A strong cool front will arrive by early Saturday and a shower threat may linger early in the day, but much of the weekend should turn out to be dry and cool. In fact, the air mass arriving later this weekend will be quite cool for this time of year and the month of June could actually start off on quite a chilly note early Monday (June 1) with temperatures reaching the 40's in some of the northern and western suburbs.
