Discussion

A couple of systems will pass to our south from tonight through Friday, and they are on the weak side with little support in the upper part of the atmosphere. The first system should produce some snow around here from tonight into early Thursday with likely accumulations of 1-3 inches in the NYC metro region. The second system will be suppressed farther to the south on Thursday night and early Friday and its impact around here will be very limited with just a chance for a little more snow. A storm system over the weekend promises to have much more moisture to work with and there can be accumulating snow and/or ice in the Mid-Atlantic region from later Saturday into early Sunday. Other winter storms may threaten the Mid-Atlantic region next week as this active weather pattern continues with more accumulating snow and/or ice on the table.
