Discussion
Great weather will continue today in the Mid-Atlantic region with high pressure remaining in control and an air mass with comfortable temperatures and humidity levels still firmly in place. It’ll turn warmer and more humid as we head into the weekend and the chance of showers and thunderstorms will return to the area. Elsewhere, a heat wave will intensify later this weekend over the Pacific Northwest where temperatures could actually approach all-time highs in places like Portland, Oregon. Also, a strong tropical wave has just exited off of the west coast of Africa and it is something to keep an eye on and could have an impact on the Gulf of Mexico/Southeast US by early July.
