Discussion

The main players across the country in coming days will be an upper-level ridge of high pressure over the Northern Rockies/southwestern Canada and an upper-level low over the northeastern US/southeastern Canada. As a result, warmer-than-normal weather will continue from the Northern Plains to the Pacific Northwest - as was the case for much of the month of July - and it’ll become somewhat cooler-than-normal in the northeastern US. Locally, it remains quite hot through tomorrow with afternoon highs in the middle 90’s and then a downward trend in temperatures will begin on Sunday. By the time we get to the early part of next week, highs temperatures will likely be in the middle 80’s as compared with the middle 90’s for today and tomorrow.
