Discussion

An active weather pattern is in store for the region during the next couple of days and it can include some strong-to-severe thunderstorm activity.  A slow-moving cold front associated with an intensifying upper-level trough will be the main culprit for numerous showers and thunderstorms during the next 36 hours or so. High pressure will take over at the end of the work week and it looks like it may set the stage for a decent Memorial Day weekend though it will get quite warm by Monday.
