Discussion
The combination of a nearly stationary frontal system and multiples waves of low pressure is bringing a soaking rainfall to the Mid-Atlantic region – something that has been quite rare in recent weeks. The frontal boundary zone will act as a conduit for low pressure systems resulting in numerous showers and embedded thunderstorms for the area. Some of the rain will be heavy at times….watch for localized flash flooding as some spots can receive several inches of rain. A second and stronger cool front will slide through the region on Wednesday night paving the way for nice week late in the week and going into the upcoming weekend.
