Discussion
Low pressure is strengthening off the east coast today and it will push to the north and reach a peak intensity over New England during the weekend. As a result, we will experience occasional rain later today and tonight, maybe an isolated thunderstorm or two, and then showers can linger into Saturday morning, but it will not turn out to be a total washout. Winds will increase during the day on Saturday as the low pressure system intensifies over New England and gusts past 40 mph are possible on Saturday night and Sunday to go along with quite cool conditions throughout the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast US.
