Discussion
An Arctic front will sweep through the region early today and this will usher in severe cold for the region for the next 48 hours. The winds will pick up noticeably as well leading to painfully low wind chill values in this two-day Arctic blast. Temperatures should bottom out in the lower teens later tonight and persistent stiff NW winds will make it feel much colder than the actual air temperatures. Temperatures will moderate noticeably by Sunday afternoon as high pressure pushes offshore and a low-level southwesterly flow of air develops in the Mid-Atlantic region.
