Discussion
Wet and unsettled weather will stick around in the Mid-Atlantic region through the first half of the weekend and the colder-than-normal temperatures will remain as well. Waves of low pressure will produce occasional showers here this morning and then steadier, heavier rain from this afternoon into Saturday and total amounts can reach an inch or more which is welcome news in the still somewhat dry Mid-Atlantic region. In fact, this air mass will be chilly enough that snowflakes can mix in at times from late tonight into early Saturday and accumulations are possible across higher elevation locations of northeastern PA. High pressure will resume control later in the weekend and it should turn milder early next week; however, another strong cold front will usher in a chilly air mass on Tuesday night and Wednesday.
