Discussion

The day begins with some of the coolest temperatures so far this season, but they should climb through the 60’s during the afternoon hours boosted by copious amounts of sunshine. The next couple of days will feature continued sunshine and comfortably warm conditions with high pressure in control across the eastern states. Meanwhile, a tropical system in the southwestern Gulf can become the first hurricane of the Atlantic Basin tropical season by the weekend as it begins to take on a general northeasterly track. Still several days to go, but this system could end up hitting somewhere between Louisiana and the Florida Panhandle and it can bring some rainfall to the Mid-Atlantic region by the second half of the weekend.
