Discussion
It’ll become quite warm and breezy today ahead of a strong cold front with afternoon temperatures likely to peak in the mid-to-upper 70’s. The frontal system will bring us periods of rain from alter tonight into Friday mid-day and there can be a thunderstorm mixed into the picture. On the back side of the front, winds will shift to a north-to-northwest direction on Friday leading to a colder-than-normal weekend in the Mid-Atlantic region. Temperatures on Saturday will likely top out in the upper 40’s despite plenty of sunshine and it turns a bit milder on Sunday to close out the weekend. Much milder weather returns to the Mid-Atlantic region during the early part of next week as strong high pressure ridging that has been parked over the western US in recent days slides to this part of the nation.
