With deep high pressure to our north and multiple low pressures over the western Atlantic Ocean, our northeast flow of air will continue for the next few days keeping our temperatures below normal for this time of year. In addition, the extended period of onshore flow will bring increasing tidal flooding concerns to coastal sections at times of high tide and the situation will not be helped by a full moon on Saturday. Expect rough surf and rip currents at the beaches all along the Mid-Atlantic coastline right through the upcoming weekend.
Several low pressure systems will consolidate into one strong storm system by the weekend and it’ll run into an atmospheric brick wall to its north featuring deep high pressure from eastern Canada to the northwest Atlantic. This encounter will cause the storm system to slow down and perhaps even take a loop back around to the east coast with big impacts possible along coastal sections from the Carolinas to New England.
