Low pressure will intensify off the Mid-Atlantic coastline today and become increasingly influenced by strong high pressure to the north - a key player in this scenario - which will stymie the storm’s northward progress. The strengthening low pressure system will slowdown and then can take a loop back to the coast during the upcoming weekend. This early season nor’easter will affect much of the Mid-Atlantic region with rain and wind back inland to much of the I-95 corridor and will have its biggest impact along coastal sections where tidal flooding and beach erosion are big concerns at times of high tide. The full moon is reached on Saturday which will only exacerbate the tidal issues…expect rip currents and high surf at all the beaches up and down the east coast throughout the weekend.
