7:00 AM | It turns noticeably milder today and stays warm this weekend, but somewhat unsettled as well

After a chilly day on Wednesday, much milder air will push into the region later today and temperatures should jump into the 60’s.  It looks like it will stay quite mild for the upcoming weekend as well; however, unsettled conditions will bring us a daily shot at showers and thunderstorms.  The mild and unsettled weather looks like it will continue early next week as well.

7:00 AM | Another chilly day and frosty night before a warm up begins

Strong low pressure continues to move slowly northeastward east of the New England coastline and it has left behind a chilly air mass in the Tennessee Valley.  This air mass will keep us below-normal for another day and we’ll likely experience another late night/early morning with widespread frost.  Temperatures will, however, jump to the 60’s tomorrow afternoon and likely stay there for highs through the upcoming weekend.  Along with the warm up will come an increasing chance for showers and thunderstorms as we get to the end of the work week and into the weekend.

7:00 AM | Chilly stretch continues for the Tennessee Valley

Strong low pressure continues to move slowly northeastward off the Northeast US coastline and it has resulted in a chilly air mass for the Tennessee Valley.  As a consequence, the next few days will remain cool and breezy across northern Alabama as all systems will be slow to move due to a strong blocking pattern in the upper-atmosphere well to our north.

Low pressure will push off the Mid-Atlantic coastline today and push a chilly air mass into the Tennessee Valley.  As a result, the first half of the week will be cool and breezy across Alabama as all systems will be slow to move due to a strong blocking pattern in the upper-atmosphere well to our north.

A strong cold front ushered in a cold air mass earlier this week, but we’ll turn much milder today to close out the work week.  In fact, temperatures this afternoon should approach the 60 degree mark and we’ll stay mild this weekend as well.  Unfortunately, with the warm up, the weekend will become quite unsettled with an increasing chance for showers and thunderstorms.

A strong cold front ushered in a cold air mass for the Tennessee Valley and temperatures today will again hold in the 40’s.  However, noticeably milder air will arrive on Friday and our high temperatures should get back to the 60 degree mark.  It’ll stay relatively mild this weekend, but with the milder conditions will come an increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms.

A strong cold front has ushered in a cold air mass and temperatures today will be some 15-20 colder than yesterday.  In fact, temperatures may hold in the 40’s for highs on Thursday before we warm up noticeably to end the work week with Friday’s highs back near the 60 degree mark.

6:00 AM | *One more unsettled day with the potential for flooding rains, but then it turns nice in time for the weekend*

Our unsettled weather pattern will continue for another day across the Tennessee Valley with occasional rain expected and maybe a thunderstorm or two.  There is the potential for some heavy rain to get involved and this could lead to flash flooding concerns in parts of the region.  Drier, cooler air will push in later tonight and on Friday and it looks like a dry, mild weekend coming with high pressure taking control.
