A ridge of high pressure will expand across the Upper Midwest this weekend and it will combine with a weak closed upper-low over the Ohio Valley to continue the threat around here for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Height rises in the Tennessee Valley over the next few days will result in daytime highs near 90 degrees this weekend and during the early part of next week. The annual Perseid meteor shower peaks this weekend so the unsettled weather could result in somewhat unfavorable viewing conditions.

A weak cool frontal system will come to a halt in the Tennessee Valley in its movement to the south and east and this will lead to unsettled weather over the next several days. As a result, there will be the threat for showers and thunderstorms around here through the weekend; especially, during the afternoon and evening hours.
