7:00 AM | *A pretty decent start to the week with comfortably warm conditions*

Paul Dorian

High pressure ridging will maintain control of our weather pattern for the next few days and the drier pattern that developed last week will continue in the Tennessee Valley. By the latter part of the week, there are signs for a trough of low pressure to form over the Northeast US and this could result in some cooler weather here by week’s end. Meanwhile, Hurricane Sam is churning over the Atlantic Ocean and needs to be closely monitored. As high pressure builds into the southeastern part of Canada in coming days, Hurricane Sam could take a turn towards the Northeast US/New England during the upcoming weekend.

Paul Dorian

There is slight chance of showers and thunderstorms later today in the Tennessee Valley, but an even better chance comes later tomorrow when a cold front arrives in the region. 7:00 AM | ***Big impact today in the Tennessee Valley from the remnants of Ida...pushes off to the Mid-Atlantic region on Wednesday***

Paul Dorian

The remnants of Hurricane Ida will continue to produce rainfall around here today and some of it will be heavy at times. The threat for localized flash flooding will be highest during thunderstorm activity which will have the potential of producing torrential downpours. The remains of Ida will push to the northeast on Wednesday and Wednesday night bringing substantial rainfall to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast US. A cooler and drier air mass will follow the departure of the tropical system around here for the mid and late week time periods.
