As a result, we’ll enjoy a pretty nice stretch of weather for much of the remainder of the week with plenty of sunshine each day, highs not far from 80 degrees, and a limited threat for showers.

Low pressure is pushing towards the Mid-Atlantic coastline from the Gulf states and it will be close enough today to raise the risk around here of showers and thunderstorms. As the system moves farther away from Florida over the next couple of days, the chance of showers will diminish and a nice stretch of weather will come to local region.

The new week will start off with an elevated chance of showers and thunderstorms due to a combination of moist low-level air out of the southeast and an upper-level low pushing eastward along the Gulf states. By mid-week, this upper-level feature will slide east of here and the rain chances will diminish. An onshore flow of air has developed across central Florida and winds will gust today and tomorrow up to 30 mph or so with a northeasterly direction. The onshore flow will slice 5-10 degrees off of the highs which will end up in the mid-to-upper 70’s as compared with yesterday’s middle 80’s. By the latter part of the weekend, our winds will become more easterly and this will add moisture to the environment and the result will be an increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms going into early next week.
