7:00 AM | Bermuda High rules the scene and we'll have a continuation of very war, humid weather with scattered showers and storms

Paul Dorian

A surface high pressure system off the northeastern US coastline will get absorbed by a large-scale Bermuda High-type high pressure system. As a result, western Atlantic high pressure will remain in control around here during the second half of the week. Low-level moisture will be supportive enough for the formation of afternoon and evening scattered showers and thunderstorms and temperatures will consistently reach the 90 degree mark for highs over the next several days.

7:00 AM | *"Bermuda High" pattern setting up for the eastern US*

Paul Dorian

A strong surface high pressure system over the Northeast US will shift to a position off the east coast by later today and ultimately get absorbed by a large-scale Bermuda High-type system. As a result, a stretch of hot and humid weather is all but certain for central Florida from mid-week through the weekend and likely well into next week. Temperatures will climb to near the 90 degree mark for the next several days and there will be a daily shot at showers and thunderstorms.

7:00 AM | Bermuda high pattern sets up with persistent heat and humidity around here

Paul Dorian

A strong surface high pressure system over the southeastern part of Canada early this week will shift southeastward over the next few days to a position near Bermuda by week’s end. During the weekend, high pressure ridging aloft will build dramatically over the Northeast US and this type of pattern will very likely open the door for tropical activity as we end June and begin the new month of July. As is typical with strong and persistent upper-level ridging over the Northeast US, the chances will increase for westward-moving tropical activity in the general region from the Bahamas-to-Florida-to the Gulf of Mexico. Stay tuned.

7:00 AM | Tropics to heat up as we approach the beginning of July

Paul Dorian

High pressure ridging will build over the SE US over the next few days and rather typical weather will continue across central Florida with very warm and humid conditions and scattered showers and thunderstorms. Looking ahead, strong high pressure ridging will expand into the Northeast US later next week and it looks like it will stick around into the beginning of July. This type of pattern will likely open the door for some westward-moving tropical activity as we begin July anywhere in the SW Atlantic, Caribbean Sea or Gulf of Mexico. Stay tuned.

7:00 AM | Lower 90's today for highs and showers and thunderstorms will threaten

Paul Dorian

High pressure ridging over the Florida Peninsula will weaken somewhat over the next couple of days as a closed low moves towards the Mississippi and Ohio Valleys. The result will be an increase in moisture in the atmosphere and a greater chance for showers and thunderstorms across central Florida. Today will be on the hot side around here with highs in the 90’s, but 90 degree highs are more likely for the rest of the week and weekend.

7:00 AM | To squeeze out one more rain-free day around here

Paul Dorian

High pressure ridging over the western Atlantic will increase moisture around here by tomorrow, but today is likely to be another rain-free day across central Florida. We’ll get back to the more typical unsettled weather pattern on Thursday and Friday with an increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms and that greater threat will continue this weekend as well.

7:00 AM | Another rain-free day likely across central Florida

Paul Dorian

High pressure ridging over the western Atlantic has expanded across Florida today and drier air aloft will inhibit the formation of PM thunderstorm activity. As a result, chances are quite high for another day of rain-free weather around here. We’ll get back to the more typical unsettled weather pattern at mid-week with an increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms and that greater threat will continue during the latter part of the week as well.

7:00 AM | Little, if any, chance for rain next couple days as high pressure dominates at all levels of the atmosphere

Paul Dorian

High pressure ridging over the western Atlantic will expand across Florida today and drier air aloft will inhibit the formation of thunderstorm activity. As a result, chances are quite high for rain-free weather conditions around here not only for today, but for tonight and Tuesday as well. We’ll get back to the more typical unsettled weather pattern at mid-week and for the latter part of the work week as well.

7:00 AM | Very warm and humid pattern continues through the weekend with scattered showers and storms

Paul Dorian

High pressure ridging over the western Atlantic will expand across Florida and maintain its control around here right into the early part of next week. This type of pattern will keep it quite warm and humid across central Florida and scattered daily showers and thunderstorms will stay in the picture. High temperatures should generally be in the upper 80’s over the next few days – not far from normal in mid-June.

7:00 AM | More of the same next few days with very warm conditions and a daily shot at scattered showers and thunderstorms...possible tropical troubles early next week

Paul Dorian

High pressure ridging over the western Atlantic will expand across Florida and maintain its control around here right into the weekend. This type of pattern will keep it quite warm and moist across central Florida and scattered daily showers and thunderstorms will stay in the picture. High temperatures should generally be in the upper 80’s over the next few days – not far from normal in mid-June. By early next week, a tropical wave may close in from the east and ultimately enhance rainfall over the Florida Peninsula...something we'll have to monitor over the next few days.
