A cold frontal system will work its way through the region early today paving the way for cooler weather conditions tonight and for much of the weekend. Strong low pressure will push well off the east coast and intensify rapidly later in the day perhaps resulting in hurricane-force winds in the western Atlantic.

Low pressure headed towards the Carolinas will push even warmer air into our area ahead of a strong cold frontal system and temperatures should climb all the way into the middle 80’s by mid-afternoon. As the front approaches the region, the chance for showers and thunderstorms will increase and there can be some strong thunderstorm activity across central Florida. The front swings through by morning and the next few days will turn out much cooler and unsettled with windy conditions and a chance of scattered showers.

Strong surface high pressure will continue to retreat to our east on Tuesday and attention will shift to the south-central states as strong low pressure forms by mid-week. A vigorous wave of energy in the upper part of the atmosphere will help to spawn the formation of strong low pressure in Texas on Wednesday and this system will push towards the Carolina coastline by Thursday night. The impact here will be warm weather conditions for the next few days with an increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms. The southern storm system will swing a cold front through our area by Friday and we’ll turn cooler and windy once again across the central part of Florida.

Strong surface high pressure will dominate the weather scene in the southeast US as we begin the new work week and it should provide us with dry and noticeably warmer conditions across central Florida. After a chilly weekend, it’ll feel quite a bit milder today with temperatures climbing back to the more seasonal low-to-mid 70’s for afternoon highs. It stays warm around here through mid-week, but a late week cool frontal passage is likely to bring cooler air to the region and a threat of showers.

The chilly air mass that pushed into the region on Wednesday night will stick around into the weekend and the overnight lows over the next couple of nights will be in the upper 40’s across much of central Florida. Moderation in temperatures will take place early next week and we’ll actually warm up to the lower 80’s by the middle of next week. The warming trend that begins on Monday will be accompanied by increasing winds from the south-to-southeast.

A strong cold front has passed through the region and we’ll experience big changes across central Florida with much cooler conditions compared to the past few days. In fact, temperatures will hold rather steady in the 50’s despite some sunshine and there will be a stiff NW breeze to make it feel even cooler. Temperatures late tonight and again late tomorrow night are likely to bottom out in the middle 40’s across the region with mainly clear skies and breezy conditions continuing. A warm up begins later in the weekend and we’ll climb back into the 70’s by the early part of next week.

A strong upper-level trough of low pressure will push into the eastern US today and drag a cold front through the eastern states. We’ll enjoy one more warm day across central Florida ahead of the front, but there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms. The frontal passage late tonight will usher in much cooler air for tomorrow and it’ll stay on the cool side into the end of the week. In fact, temperatures tomorrow night could bottom out in the middle 40’s for lows by the time we begin the day on Friday.

Not only will temperatures trend noticeably cooler compared to Thursday, the winds will pick up dramatically – perhaps gusting to 40 mph or so - and the chance for showers will increase as well.
