Low pressure headed towards the Carolinas will push even warmer air into our area ahead of a strong cold frontal system and temperatures should climb all the way into the middle 80’s by mid-afternoon. As the front approaches the region, the chance for showers and thunderstorms will increase and there can be some strong thunderstorm activity across central Florida. The front swings through by morning and the next few days will turn out much cooler and unsettled with windy conditions and a chance of scattered showers.

Strong surface high pressure will continue to retreat to our east on Tuesday and attention will shift to the south-central states as strong low pressure forms by mid-week. A vigorous wave of energy in the upper part of the atmosphere will help to spawn the formation of strong low pressure in Texas on Wednesday and this system will push towards the Carolina coastline by Thursday night. The impact here will be warm weather conditions for the next few days with an increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms. The southern storm system will swing a cold front through our area by Friday and we’ll turn cooler and windy once again across the central part of Florida.

After a chilly weekend, it’ll feel quite a bit milder today with temperatures climbing back to the more seasonal low-to-mid 70’s for afternoon highs. It stays warm around here through mid-week, but a late week cool frontal passage is likely to bring cooler air to the region and a threat of showers.
