7:00 AM | Dry, cool weather to start the week, but a warming trend at mid-week

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Mostly sunny, breezy, cool, highs near 60 degrees

Tonight

Mostly clear, breezy, cold, lows in the mid 40’s

Tuesday

Mostly sunny, windy, still cool, low 60’s

Tuesday Night

Mostly cloudy, cold, upper 40’s

Wednesday

Mostly sunny, cool, low-to-mid 60’s

Thursday

Partly sunny, warmer, near 70

Friday

Mostly sunny, pleasant, near 70

Saturday

Mostly sunny, pleasant, near 70

Discussion

Dry, cool weather will start the week with temperatures below normal for this time of year. As the week progresses, however, a warming trend will get underway while the dry pattern continues. High pressure will dominate the scene for much of the week and this will allow for the mid-week warming trend to take place.

7:00 AM | Mild today, but much colder air moves in overnight and it may be accompanied by an inch or two of snow

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Mostly cloudy, mild, chance for showers, highs in the low 50's

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, colder, chance for rain showers early and then snow showers late with small accumulations possible of up to an inch or two, lows in the low-to-mid 20’s

Tuesday

Mostly cloudy, cold, chance for early morning snow showers, low 30’s

Tuesday Night

Partly cloudy, cold, low 20’s

Wednesday

Partly sunny, milder, mid 40’s

Thursday

Mostly sunny, mild, upper 40’s

Friday

Mostly sunny, mild, near 50

Saturday

Partly sunny, milder, mid 50’s

Discussion

An upper level trough will move across the desert southwest today and then shift east of the southern Rockies late tonight. This will drag some colder air into the region overnight and some snow can accompany the cool down with an inch or two possible by morning. A strong northwest flow of air will develop by mid-week and we’ll have to watch for another couple of disturbances that could spread some light snow our way in the Tuesday night to Thursday night time frame.

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Cloudy, cool, rain likely, maybe a thunderstorm, highs in the low 60’s

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, cool, more showers likely, lows in the upper 50’s

Discussion

Cool, damp weather pattern continues and we’ll have periods of rain right through tomorrow. The rain will taper off to showers by Sunday, but temperatures will stay on the cool side. By early in the week, a Gulf of Alaska low may start to affect the region and this will keep our weather cool and unsettled.

7:00 AM | Mild stretch of weather continues into the weekend

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Mostly sunny, continued warm, highs in the mid-to-upper 50’s

Tonight

Partly cloudy, chilly, lows near 30 degrees

Saturday

Partly sunny, mild, upper 50’s

Saturday Night

Partly cloudy, chilly, low 30’s

Partly sunny, mild, upper 50’s

Monday

Partly sunny, mild, low-to-mid 50’s

Tuesday

Mostly cloudy, much colder, chance for some snow, near 40

Wednesday

Partly sunny, cold, upper 30’s

Discussion

An upper level ridge will be over the state today and this will generate a west-to-northwest flow of air. The result will be another warm and dry day in the southern Rockies. The winds will shift to more of a southwesterly direction over the next couple of days as an upper level trough approaches and that will increase moisture levels somewhat, but still no precipitation. Early next week some colder air is likely to return to the region and there can be some snow around Tuesday as that change takes place.

7:00 AM | Cool and damp weather pattern to stick around

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Mostly cloudy, cooler, periods of rain, highs in the mid 60’s

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, cool, more rain likely, lows in the low 50’s

Friday

Mostly cloudy, cool, more rain likely, low 60’s

Tuesday

Mostly sunny, chilly, mid-to-upper 50’s

Discussion

An upper level trough has now moved into the region from the eastern Pacific Ocean; consequently, our recent warm and dry weather will deteriorate into a cool and wet pattern. In fact, there will a chance for some rain right through the upcoming weekend along with a gradual cooling trend that will bring down our high temperatures to the mid 50’s by early next week.

7:00 AM | Another very warm day as our mild and precipitation-free weather pattern continues

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Mostly sunny, continued warm, highs near 60 degrees

Tonight

Partly cloudy, chilly, lows in the upper 20’s

Friday

Mostly sunny, slightly cooler, but still way above normal for this time of year, mid-to-upper 50’s

Partly sunny, mild, mid 50’s

Sunday

Partly sunny, still mild, upper 50’s

Monday

Mostly sunny, mild, low 50’s

Tuesday

Cloudy, colder, maybe some snow, upper 30’s

Discussion

Our dry and warm weather pattern continues today as a northwesterly flow of air predominates with an upper level ridge situated near the Great Basin region. Temperatures will be very mild again today and then it’ll turn slightly cooler on Friday while remaining dry and still way above normal temperature-wise. This dry pattern has elevated the fire danger across the region and the next chance for some precipitation will be early next week in the form of snow as colder air returns to the region.

Mostly cloudy, cool, lows near 50 degrees

Thursday

Mostly cloudy, cooler, maybe some rain, mid-to-upper 60’s

Sunday

Mostly cloudy, chilly with a chance for rain, upper 50’s

Monday

Mostly cloudy, chilly with a chance for rain, mid-to-upper 50’s

Discussion

An upper level trough will begin approaching the region today and the dominating high pressure system of recent days will be pushed off to the east. As a result, more clouds will move back into southern California and a cooling trend will take place during the second half of the week. In fact, there will be an increasing chance for rain as the week progresses with the approach of the upper level low.

Discussion

High pressure will continue to dominate the weather scene for today and an offshore flow will keep high temperatures pleasant into mid-week. By Wednesday, an upper level trough will begin approaching the region and our high pressure system will be pushed off to the east. In fact, there will be an increasing chance for rain as the week progresses with the approach of the upper level low.
