PHL Tuesday Forecast - Warm, Humid and Storms Possible Later
Vencore Weather
The biggest crowd ever for a Phillies regular season game saw the offense explode for 10 runs last night in South Philly. Despite going 0 for 5, the presence of Chase Utley in the lineup seemed to relax the rest of the team, but perhaps the biggest reason for the offensive explosion was the weather. Humidity levels reached summerlike conditions last night with dew points near 70 degrees at game time and the ball tends to carry much better in those conditions - sure enough three Phillies homers followed along with one Reds homer. Total runs and home runs have been down throughout baseball so far during this cool and damp spring, but expect that to change now as the weather heats up. In fact, the rest of this week will be quite warm with highs of 80 or more each day and there are signs that next week could bring the 1st heat wave of the season to the East with highs potentially reaching the 90’s. A weak cool front will come through late today and that should generate a few showers and strong thunderstorms. Tomorrow promises to be rain-free, but more daily thunderstorms will return in the Thursday through Sunday time period. Today- a mix of clouds and sun, summerlike warmth and humidity, a few showers possible and even strong late day thunderstorms, mid 80’s
Tonight- an evening shower or thunderstorm possible, mild, lows near 60
Wed- mainly sunny, a little less humid, actually looks rain-free, highs near 80
Thurs thru Sun- partly sunny and more humid each day with the chance for a couple of showers and strong thunderstorms each day, mid-to-upper 80’s on Thurs and Fri, closer to 80 degrees for highs on Sat and Sun
