Discussion

Here we go…the extreme air mass that has affected the Midwest and central Plains has finally expanded to the Mid-Atlantic coast. As a result, temperatures here will reach the mid 90’s today and should come close to 100 degrees on Friday and Saturday. Relief is in sight; however, as highs on Sunday will be much closer to 90 than 100, and mid-to-upper 80’s is likely for Monday and Tuesday. It is very likely that this 3-day excessive heat wave will turn out to be more of an aberration than the norm for the summer as we look back on it in a couple of months.
