Discussion
The red-hot Phillies machine has returned home from the west coast to start a homestand tomorrow night and they have brought some nice California-style weather with them. High pressure has moved in from the Midwest and it will control our weather right into the first part of the weekend. The air mass now in place is quite comfortable with moderate temperatures and lower humidity than recent days. The high pressure then moves off the coast on Saturday and this will open the door for an Ohio Valley low pressure system to head towards the Mid-Atlantic region. While there can be a shower or thunderstorm late on the day Saturday, they are more likely Saturday night and Sunday. In fact, Sunday promises to be a soaker. That next low pressure system will gradually exit the east coast by early Monday and then another high pressure system will take over by late Monday and Tuesday with more comfortable conditions. Elsewhere, the tropical Atlantic is getting more and more active and there are now two waves just off the west coast of Africa that will have to be monitored over the next several days.
