Discussion

High pressure has moved off the east coast and a weak frontal system will approach the New York City region from the southwest. A shower or thunderstorm is possible this morning and then again later this afternoon as the overall humidity level rises. The frontal system will then stall near us tonight and allow for a low pressure system to ride along it on Friday enhancing the threat for some more decent rainfall here in the Mid-Atlantic. In fact, there is a good chance for another inch plus rainfall event here between this morning and late Friday night. Unsettled weather will continue right into the early part of next week with a daily threat for additional showers as another frontal system approaches from the west to begin next week.
