Discussion
After a week with an earthquake and a hurricane to deal with we deserve a break and we’ll get one. Nice weather is in store for much of the week with no substantial rain events coming our way. Irene wreaked havoc on the area and numerous flooding issues and power outages remain, but we’ll have dry weather and pleasant temperatures to help with the clean-up efforts. Some peak wind gusts reports from the storm include 71 mph at Cape May, NJ, which actually occurred yesterday on the back side of Irene, and 52 mph at Philly Airport that occurred Saturday evening. A sampling of rain totals include 7.83 at Exton, 6.71 in King of Prussia and 5.70 inches at Philly Airport which puts them at an amazing 19.31 inches for the recording-breaking (i.e., all-time) month of August.
