Discussion
High pressure parked over the Ohio Valley will control our weather through mid-week featuring plenty of sunshine and comfortable conditions. August closes out tomorrow and it has been a wet month here with 8.92 inches of rainfall recorded at Reagan National Airport with temperatures at 2.2 degrees above normal. Elsewhere, the tropics remain active and there is a new tropical storm called “Katia” and it will become a strong hurricane by next week as it only slows moves through the Atlantic. It is too early to say for sure whether it will ever reach the US east coast which would not be until late next week. Also, indications are quite strong that a tropical system will develop in the western Gulf of Mexico this weekend possibly heading ultimately in the direction of Texas or Louisiana.
