Discussion
The return of Stephen Strasburg is in doubt this evening as a prolonged period of unsettled weather continues today with periods of rain and cool conditions. The threat for rain will last right into the end of the week as a corridor of deep moisture exists from the Deep South into New England. Periods of rain that will be heavy at times today and tonight will create some new localized flooding problems given the very saturated grounds. Much cooler temperatures are in store for today as last night’s frontal passage has ushered in a cool air mass and that stalled frontal boundary will enhance our rainfall over the next few days. Late this week it appears that the center of Hurricane Katia will slide by to our east staying off of the east coast as it makes a sharp turn to the north and then to the northeast.
