The heavy rain that developed overnight in this tropical air mass and dumped on parts of our region is now moving away, but more showers and thunderstorms are forming across central and eastern Pennsylvania and they could move back in here later today. These rain bands are the result of the remains of Tropical Storm Lee and will finally dissipate as we approach the weekend. The rain will become more scattered tomorrow and then much of the weekend should be rain-free although a shower or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out either day. There are more tropical troubles brewing, however, and we’ll have to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Nate in the Gulf of Mexico and Maria in the Atlantic over the next week or so.
