7:40 PM | Parts of the DC and Philly metro regions will get hit later this evening by a line of showers and thunderstorms

Paul Dorian

A line of showers and thunderstorms currently extends from south-central Pennsylvania to eastern West Virginia and it is gradually sliding to the east. Parts of the Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia metropolitan areas will get hit by this line during the next few hours and some areas may receive heavy rain for a brief time which could bring about renewed flash flooding.  The greatest chance for rain from this line is across the northern and western suburbs of both metro regions including Chester and Montgomery Counties around Philly and Fairfax, Montgomery, and Prince Georges Counties near DC. Another shower or thunderstorm can occur during the day tomorrow throughout the entire Mid-Atlantic.
