Discussion
A major frontal passage during the mid-week will usher in an autumnal air mass anchored by strong and sprawling Canadian high pressure that is moving towards us from Canada. This major outbreak of cool, crisp autumnal air will drop temperatures into the 30’s throughout the Northern Plains by mid-week and could even give us our first lows in the 40’s late this week. A shower or thunderstorm could accompany the frontal passage on Wednesday and a few showers are possible on Thursday as the cooler air moves in. This big change to our first prolonged taste of fall will take place after a couple more warm days with highs in the 80’s.
