Discussion
Today and tomorrow will be quite warm, but a major change is about to occur thanks to an advancing fall-like Canadian air mass that will reach the Mid-Atlantic on Thursday. Sprawling Canadian high pressure will anchor this air mass and it is dropping southeast from southern Canada right towards the eastern US. This major outbreak of cool, crisp autumnal air will drop temperatures into the 30’s throughout the Northern Plains by mid-week and could even give us our first lows in the 40’s late this week. A shower or thunderstorm could accompany the frontal passage on Wednesday and a few showers are possible on Thursday as the cooler air moves in.
