Discussion
One storm system passed by yesterday and another low pressure area will sweep a cold front through the Mid-Atlantic region on Friday. While a shower or thunderstorm can occur at any time today, they are more likely tonight and tomorrow. The upper air pattern is quite energetic with this next system and that could help to generate some strong thunderstorms over the next 36 hours so that will have to be monitored. The good news is that this vigorous system sweeps through by the weekend and clearing skies can be expected on Saturday although it’ll be windy and cool with gusts past 30 mph. Cool, dry weather continues Sunday and Monday and then another possible strong storm could affect our weather by about the middle of next week. In fact, that system could pull in enough cold air to cause some snow in the Ohio Valley and Appalachian Mountains by Tuesday night or Wednesday of next week.
