Discussion

A moisture-laden storm with tropical connections will consolidate along the SE US coast today and will then take a run up the east coast tomorrow. Rain should move into the region late tonight and it will then continue heavily at times tomorrow with 1-3 inches possible. The rain will be accompanied by strong wind gusts of 30 mph or more and strong thunderstorms could be mixed in containing flooding downpours. By Thursday, the coastal storm will head into New England and cooler air will move into the Mid-Atlantic on gusty west-to-northwest winds. The cooler weather will continue right into the weekend with high temperatures struggling to pass 60 degrees.
