Changes are on the way for the DC metro region as high pressure will give way today to clouds in advance of a low pressure system that has formed along a frontal zone which separates much cooler air to the north and milder air to its south. The low will spread showers our way later this afternoon and then some steadier rain our way late tonight and tomorrow and at the same time colder air will be dropping southward into the Mid-Atlantic. This low then clears out of here by Friday, but we’ll then have to watch for the possibility of a coastal storm that could possibly affect the region on Saturday with a cold rain and, in some cases, wet snow for the first time this season.
