A potent Arctic front has whipped through the region early this morning and it has caused a dramatic drop in temperatures, as well as some strong wind gusts and rain showers that have changed to snow showers in many spots. The winds will continue to be quite strong this afternoon with gusts still past 40 mph and temperatures should hold relatively steady in the 30’s or even drop slowly. A reinforcing cold front will pass through Saturday night and the cold weather will continue right into the early part of next week. In fact, temperatures Sunday night/early Monday could bottom out in the low teens. A brief warm up will occur on Tuesday, but then another strong cold front will pass through by Wednesday and the second half of next week looks quite cold.
