A potent Arctic front will whip through the region later this morning and it will cause a dramatic drop in temperatures, strong wind gusts of 40-50 mph and the possibility of rain showers changing to snow showers. The winds will continue quite strong this afternoon with gusts still past 40 mph and temperatures should hold steady in the 30’s or even continue to drop at a slower pace compared to this morning. A reinforcing cold front will pass through Saturday night and the cold weather will continue right into the early part of next week. In fact, temperatures Sunday night/early Monday could bottom out near 10 degrees in some spots. A brief warm up will occur on Tuesday, but then another strong cold front will pass through by Wednesday and the second half of next week looks quite cold.
