Discussion

A weakening low pressure area will affect the region today and tonight with plenty of clouds and perhaps a few rain or snow showers. Significant precipitation is, however, not at all likely as this system is losing its upper level support on its way to the east coast. Weak high pressure will build into the region on Wednesday, but then another wave of low pressure will head this way by Thursday from the Ohio Valley. That system will take a track to our northwest on Thursday and it will likely spread some rain our way as temperatures climb well up in the 40’s. Another low pressure system should develop in the southeast US this weekend and the potential setup bears watching over the next few days as a storm could phase at just the right time to affect the Mid-Atlantic region late in the weekend.
